Ing. Kwabena Agyei Agyepong (OV, FGhIE, M.ASCE)

Ing. Agyepong is Executive Chairman and CEO of CENWAT. He is a consulting Civil Engineer with expert knowledge in environmental, water and sanitation engineering. He has over 25 years of extensive experience in project management from concept planning, design, procurement, construction supervision, project commissioning and asset management.

He started his professional career with Ghana Highway Authority as a Materials and Quality Control Engineer in 1987. He has worked on major projects in Ghana including conducting engineering studies, geometric design, and subgrade evaluation of major trunk road corridors. He was the resident engineer for the emergency repair works, reconstruction and an asphaltic concrete overlay of the runways of both Kotoka International Airport, Accra and Kumasi International Airport in Ghana.

Ing. Agyepong has managed several major engineering projects for clients including Ghana Cement Works (GHACEM), UNIBANK, CIMTOGO-Lome, Togo, Ghana Cocoa Marketing Board (CMB), Bank of Ghana, Ghana Law School, Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT), Trasacco Estates, Accra and the multi-million dollar 150-unit Housing Complex (Tiny Rowland Estates) and associated infrastructure at Obuasi, Ghana for Ashanti Goldfields Company Limited, now AngloGold. In 1993, Ing. Agyepong left the Ghana Highway Authority to co-found the private engineering consulting firm, Constro Consult Limited.

Ing. Agyepong is a Fellow of the Ghana Institute of Engineering (GhIE). He recently completed his stewardship as the Executive Director of the Institute. He is currently the Executive Director of the West African Federation of Engineering Organizations (WAFEO). Ing. Agyepong was recently awarded the highly coveted Federation of African Engineering Organisations (FAEO) award for distinguished Service to FAEO and Engineering in Africa as an outstanding Executive Director of an engineering organization. He holds a BSc degree in Civil Engineering from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Ghana and an MSc Degree in Water and Environmental Engineering from the University of Surrey, UK.

Elizabeth Agyepong (MRICS)

Elizabeth Agyepong is a Lead Consultant and Project Director at CENWAT. She is an experienced Director with a strong background in architecture, surveying, business development and project management. She has over 20 years of quality experience and proven expertise in architecture, financial appraisals and investment, planning and development, project and construction management and health and safety.

Elizabeth has managed several multi-million pound commercial and residential development contracts in and outside the United Kingdom. She is a leader in consultancy, training, and workshops in the areas of real estate development, financing and investment, architecture and development planning, development and investment appraisals, project and construction management, risk and health and safety assessment and management.

Elizabeth is a creative, innovative, and solution-focused professional. She can identify, evaluate, and provide client-centred solutions to problems, administer contracts, and increase value of customer satisfaction through her expertise in programme development and management, creative strategies and consulting.

Elizabeth is a registered member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS). She holds a bachelor’s degree in Architecture and Estate Management and a master’s degree in Real Estate Development and Finance from Greenwich University, UK. Her core knowledge base includes residential and commercial development, project and construction management, budget control and quality assurance, project execution plans, risk and safety assessment management.

Ing. Kweku Mensah Solomon

Ing. Mensah is a lead consultant at CENWAT. He is a seasoned engineer and has extensive experience in urban and highway engineering, pavement design, hydrogeology, construction supervision and project management. He is an expert in construction material (geotechnical) assessment, quality control aspects on projects including material quality, usage, approvals, precision, and finishes and maintenance of several types of infrastructure with a keen interest in buildings, roads, and bridges. He also has extensive experience in research works on geologic (soils) and polymer (plastic).

Ing. Mensah has worked with companies including Asanko Limited, Griner Engineering Ghana Limited, GHA/Griner Criamos Obra, Ernest Chemist Factory (GMP), Contracta, and ECG/Hitachi Construction – Japan. He is creative and can develop indigenous programmes for manufacturing and for constructed infrastructure routine maintenance.

Ing. Mensah He is also a registered member of the Ghana Institute of Engineering (GhIE), the International Geosynthetic Society (IGS) and the International Society for Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering (ISSMGE). He is also currently pursuing an MPhil in Road and Transport Engineering at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).

Ing. Joshua Nii Moilai Allotey

Ing. Allotey is a Civil and Structural Engineering consultant at CENWAT. He has over 30 years’ experience in the engineering industry and has assessed the structural integrity of many construction schemes. Some of these projects include auditing/consulting on the structural integrity of buildings belonging to the Ghana Armed Forces, Melcom, Jukess Consultancy and Services Ltd, HAG-Consults Ltd, S-Class Services Ltd, Goldfields Ghana Ltd, Damang Mines, Anglo-Gold, GIMPA, Edaif Towers, Cal Bank, Blue Pod Ltd, Mövenpick, Accra Polytechnic, Wesley Girls High School, and Eco-Bank.

Ing. Allotey is a member of the Ghana Institution of Engineers (GhIE) and the America Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). He has a Master of Science degree in civil engineering and a postgraduate certificate in Construction Management from Bauhaus University of Weimar, Germany.

In 2021, he was nominated to serve on the Committee for Integrity Audit of all public buildings and structures across Ghana by the Ghana Institution of Engineering. This was via a directive of the President of Ghana, through the Ministry of Works and Housing and the Engineering Council of Ghana.

Ing. Kobby Amoa-Mensah

Ing. Amoa-Mensah is a consultant at CENWAT. He is a versatile professional with over 14 years’ experience in building construction, transport planning, traffic modelling, simulation and engineering, construction project management and business development. His roles have included independent international road safety audits, hyraform bricks production, construction cost analysis and forecasting, and project quality assessments. He has worked with firms including Traffix Solutions Ghana, Arup Consulting Engineers Dublin, JMP Consultants and Jacobs Babtie (Wakefield). He is also the founder of Construction Exchange Gh, Ghana Construction News, and Ahafo News.

Ing. Amoa-Mensah has an MBA in Finance from Central University, a Postgraduate Certificate in Road Safety from Delft University, and a BEng in Civil and Structural Engineering from University of Leeds. He is a Board Member of the Lands Commission in Brong Ahafo, Ghana, a member of the Institution of Engineers of Ireland (MIEI), the Institute of Mathematics and its Applications (MIMA), the Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation, UK (MCIHT), and the Institute of Highways Engineers, UK (MIHE).

Ing. Amoa-Mensah is also an International Independent Road Safety Auditor. He has acted on behalf of the Ministry of Roads and Highways in Ghana, the Ministry of Public Works in Liberia, and Ugandan National Roads Authority (UNRA).

He is the Country Representative for ROM Transport Israel in Ghana.

Ing. Moses Arkoh

Ing. Arkoh is a Civil Engineer with appreciable experience in civil engineering construction projects monitoring and maintenance of environmental management systems (including supervision). He is an expert in engineering structural design (steel, timber etc.), project administration (civil engineering projects), quality control, and strategic project planning.

Ing. Arkoh is highly experienced in structural works (general construction) and is keen on conserving the natural environment with Environmental Management Systems (ISO 14001), health and safety at the workplace and carbon reduction strategies.

He has worked internationally with companies including Posco Engineering in South Korea; Global Environmental and Energy Managers Limited in Ghana, Greenfields Offshore Services Ltd in Ghana, Sea Maiden Group in Ghana, Sempe ’96’ Civil Engineering Co. Ltd in Ghana, Unihydro Ghana Ltd, and Public Works Department (Asamankese, Ghana) and the British Trust for Conservation Volunteers (BTCV – NGO), UK.

Ing. Arkoh is a member of the Ghana Institute of Engineering (Civil Division) GHIE and the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). He has an MSc in Environmental Management (Engineering Route) from Coventry University, UK. He is currently a PhD candidate at the University of West England (UK), where he is researching Wastewater treatment.

Ing. Kwaku Solomon–Ayeh

Ing. Amoa-Mensah is a consultant at CENWAT. He is a versatile professional with over 19 years’ experience as a building and roads resource optimisation expert with working experiences in the UK, Eire, Ghana, Liberia, Uganda, Ethiopia etc. His experiences bridge Civil Engineering, Finance and Law.

In the building/housing sector his vast experience in the utilisation of alternative local materials for construction and innovative construction methods is rare strength. He has been at the forefront of developing training Models for Hydraform Brick production and Construction. He has been a Project lead on many successful affordable housing projects in Ghana including the Larigu Hydarform project. He is the Editor of the popular Building Estimating Manual for West Africa.

In the road and transportation sector, he is versatile in Road asset management, land use transport planning, traffic modelling and simulation, traffic engineering, traffic impact assessments, road safety audits etc. Kobby’s construction project management, project costing/forecasting, negotiation and business development skills make him an all-round professional who delivers project goals. He has worked with firms including Traffix Solutions Ghana, Arup Consulting Engineers Dublin, Ireland, ROM Transportation, JMP Consultants and Jacobs Babtie (Wakefield).

Ing. Amoa-Mensah is equipped with an LLB (2022) and MBA in Finance (2018) from Central University, Ghana, a Postgraduate Certificate in Road Safety from Delft University (2017), MSc Road Management and Engineering (2004) from the University of Birmingham-UK and BEng (Hons) in Civil & Structural Engineering (2003) from University of Leeds.

Kobby is a professional member of the Institution of Engineers of Ireland (MIEI), Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation, UK (MCIHT), Institute of Highways Engineers, UK (MIHE) and the Institute of Mathematics and its Applications (MIMA),
Ing. Amoa-Mensah is also an International Independent Road Safety Auditor (IIRSA) and worked on World Bank and AfDB-funded projects and was the IIRSA for the world-class Pokuase Interchange, Ghana. He has audited over 2000km of rural and urban road settings and commissioned thousands of traffic surveys and written hundreds of TIAs for different land-use types to meet development control standards.

He has acted as Lead Auditor on behalf of the Ministry of Roads and Highways in Ghana, the Ministry of Public Works in Liberia, and the Ugandan National Roads Authority (UNRA) amongst others.
He is a Board Member of Bomso Clinic and served as a Board Member of the Lands Commission in Brong Ahafo, Ghana. He is also the founder of Construction Exchange Gh, Ghana Construction News, and Ahafo News and enjoys volunteering in rural communities.
